Gympie local four-piece queer indie rock band, Hugo And The Hive, formed in 2019 as an emerging original music group.
Over the past few years, this band has performed at:

In 2023, Hugo And The Hive won the Gympie Youth Week Battle of the Bands under-18 category. They also opened for TRILLIONS and Wave Raiders on April 14, 2024, at Nelson Reserve, thanks to Gympie Regional Council’s Youth Week celebrations.
More recently, they played at Cooran Hall’s PROMenade with Pride and the Solbar on the Sunshine Coast, where they were invited back in June 2024. They also performed to a big crowd at Norton Music Factory for the Next Gen Youth Fest in May 2024, which was recorded and filmed.
In July 2024, Hugo And The Hive began their Brisbane journey, headlining their first show at The Junk Bar, followed by a performance at The Cave Inn in August.

Future Plans:
The band plans to move to Brisbane in 2025 to focus on more gigs, events, and releasing songs and live videos for online streaming and social media.

Who We Are:
We met in high school, and our story began at Gympie Music School Of Excellence, where we were thrown into a band and quickly fell in love with it. To this day, we’re all best friends—through music and beyond.
