Ancient Remains is a four piece Brisbane Heavy Metal Band that formed in 2019 after a chance encounter on a plane coming back from Download Festival when Calvin Baker the Drummer sat next to Daniel Stewart the Lead Singer and Rhythm Guitarist. They met up the next weekend for their very first Jam, with Calvin bringing his best mate Jayden Fox who became the Lead Guitarist. Cody Lawson and longtime friend of Jayden would join the band months later with his Bass to complete the sound.
...The name Ancient Remains means a lot to us as we have inspiration from dozens of great Musicians who came before us not specific to any genre throughout decades of great music. Several of these musicians and idols of ours have passed away or are simply not playing anymore, regardless of this they will always live on in memory and their Legacy will Remain. Some may see them as Ancient, but their influence will live on through people and bands like us as well as the legions of fans they have gathered.
After sharing their influences, the goal quickly became to not be bound by any one genre but to be inspired by the bands they idolised creating their own unique sound. Influences are taken from a wide range of bands including Metallica, Lamb of God, Pantera, Slipknot, Parkway drive, Megadeth, Turnstile, Linkin Park, Guns n Roses and Black Stone Cherry to name a few.
After dozens of shows and several Tours over the past five years from Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Emerald, Bundaberg, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and several more local Brisbane venues, playing with many great bands including Australia’s own Voyager, Kaosis (NZ), Lagerstein, Piston Fist and many more, Ancient Remains have been growing their fan base over the years.
In 2022 they released Stuck as well as Kill or be Killed and The Ancient Will Remain recorded by Callum Robinson at twin sound studios in Brisbane.
2024 has a lot in store with their first single off the EP titled the same called Burn it all which was released on the 19th of January 2024 available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all other major streaming platforms which was followed up by the official Music Video for the same single that was released on the 26th of January 2024 which you can find on the bands YouTube channel. The second single on the EP CTFO was released on the 14th of February 2024 which you can find on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all other major streaming platforms with the whole EP dropping on the 13th of March 2024 on all online streaming platforms. These four songs on the new EP were recorded by both Callum Robinson at twin sound studios and finished off with Troy Brady from The Amity Affliction at Troy Brady Productions. All tracks have been Mastered by Roger Lian in New York who has worked with bands from Misfits, Sum 41 to best of Pantera and Slayer remastering.

Now the band were in 2023 and they buckled down continuing writing and playing shows around Australia, from Opening for Voyager at Eleven Dive Bar Sunshine Coast to Touring around playing several shows in Mackay, Cairns, Melbourne, Emerald, Bundaberg, Gold Coast to several more local shows in the Brisbane scene. After this experience they have really reflected on the love and passion they have for doing this and plan on seeing many more places from major cities of Sydney and Perth to the smaller towns of rural Australia to hopefully share their music with everyone who wants to listen. The band has strong aspirations to get themselves overseas to share what they have created with as many fans as possible with already receiving several enquiries from fans reaching out to them on their Socials which is a great feeling.
